November Currently

So, where have I been? - busy, busy, busy!!  I have been so busy with school and life, that I just abandoned blogging.  Well, I am hoping to slowly get back to it.

To start it out, I thought I'd take part in the November Currently.

Listening:  Well, after having several days with no electricity, TV, internet, phone, etc.  I have the TV on anything just to hear the familiar rumble / noise.  It is sad how much our lives revolve around electronics.  If it were not for my cell phone, I would have gone crazy this past week!!

Loving:  My grand-kids came for a sleepover!!  I love spending time with them.  My Zoe has been here beside me making cookies, cake pops, and cupcakes on the iPad!!!  I have to get some brown sugar so we can make some real cookies tomorrow!!!!

Thinking:  Oh boy!  I still have to get myself together to get back to school on Wednesday.  I have some preliminary plans from last week, but I am just not completely happy with them.  I just need to get something simple down for this week....

Wanting:  I really need to get myself organized.  Once I do that, my planning will be so much easier.  I have a tenancy to make things more complicated for myself than is necessary.  I really do think I have Adult-Onset- ADHD!!!  UGH!!

Needing:  I really need to pick up some black ink for my printer so that I can get some centers and games ready.  This should have been done by now, but I don't want to go to the store.  I am afraid I really will get sidetracked!!

Music:  I am watching Dancing With The Stars - country night from last week online since I had to miss it do to the storm.  I absolutely love Rascal Flats.  Watching Apolo and Karina dancing to Sara Beth is just beautiful!!

Well, off to get something done!! - I think!

My Erin Conden Planner!!!!!

Oh my goodness!  I got my Erin Conden planner this week!  It is fabulous!!

After seeing posts about Erin Conden products on other blogs, I just had to check them out.  I was not sure I wanted to spend that much on a planner, but I decided to give it a chance. - After all, others were well pleased with theirs.  As a matter of fact, I did not find anyone that was not happy with theirs.

It was well worth the splurge!  I've just got to share - although the pictures do not do it justice!!!

The cover - it has a hard laminate covering it - and of course it is personalized!
I ordered matching notepads - personalized too - that are peel and stick that I put inside the front cover!
The first page to write on - a place to put codes, websites, and passwords and such.
A place to put special events, and volunteer contacts - then some notes for subs!
One page for all the holidays in the year!
A page to list all the student birthdays!
A place to track abscences - and whether they brought a note or not!
Several check-list pages so that you can track what you want!!
A place to draw a seating chart - a few pages of these to give room for all the changes that get made throughout the year!
Long term planning - curriculum mapping!!! I can see me using this as I work with the Common Core Standards!
A calendar and page for each month of the year to allow for easier planning & scheduling!
The actual planner pages - one for each week of the school year!  Aren't they gorgeous?
Several pages for notes!
Various stickers to use in the plans and schedules - pages of them!
Two-sided pocket to store things.  And yes - that is a 20% off coupon to use on a future purchase.  I already know I want the life planner as well as their markers.
Inside back cover has a clear zip-pocket as well as a year at a glance for 2012 and 2013.  Inside that clear pocket is matching personalized complimentary stickers - love them!!

Don't you just love it?!?!?!
It's almost too pretty to write in, but I can see myself carrying this everywhere!

Let's Get This Started with a Friday Find

I went and finally did it this year.  I moved from my support position as an inclusive special education teacher in the middle school to becoming a General Ed. - 3rd Grade teacher.  I am so excited, so nervous, so everything!  I have considered moving to a general ed class for a few years now, and I always pulled out last minute.  I went with my heart and jumped feet first this year!!!!!

I have been in my classroom a few days so far.  The floors have been cleaned, I have moved in all of my stuff from my old office (closet), I have sorted through all of my stuff.  Now I need to go through what was already there, decide what to keep and where to put everything, wait for them to paint the first week or so of August.  I can then pretty everything up and add the touches of me to the room!!!

My mind is going a hundred miles a minute with all of my ideas and things I know I need to do.  I have so many questions yet to answer as well.  I know I will get there - little steps at a time though!

To get my blog started out, I wanted to share something I found today.  I ran across a wonderful blog post that has a comparison chart of the prices on school supplies for this week.  Since I am going to be taking my daughter on a preliminary run for school shopping - as well as picking up some stuff for my own room, I thought this was a pretty helpful item.

Go check it out for yourself at Pocket Your Dollars!!!!
